BRADLEY WHITFORD;

"The first thing they should do when they start cloning people is clone Brad Whitford. I think it should be a constitutional right that all women have one."
- Janel Moloney

A classically-trained stage actor and graduate of Juilliard, Bradley Whitford's credits in film, theatre and television have allowed him to work with some of the most noted writers, directors and playwrights in the arts. Stardom, however, was another thing altogether, and it was not until 1999 when he joined NBC's Emmy Award-winning drama The West Wing as the cocky yet vulnerable Josh Lyman that he gained the recognition he really deserved. In 2001, Whitford won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the role.

Growing up in Wisconsin, Whitford went on to study drama and English literature at Wesleyan University and earned a master's degree in theatre from the prestigious Juilliard Theatre Centre.
His first professional performance was in the off-Broadway Curse of the Starving Glass, with Kathy Bates. He has also appeared in such productions as Measure for Measure at the Lincoln Centre, the title role in Coriolanus at the Folger Shakespeare Centre in Washington DC and the Broadway production of Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men.

Whitford's film credits include The Muse with Albert Brooks, Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams, Kate and Leopold with Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman, Billy Madison, Scent of a Woman, A Perfect World, Red Corner, Presumed Innocent and My Fellow Americans. He has also guest-starred on such hit series as ER, The X-Files and NYPD Blue.

Studio 60 sees Whitford reunited with West Wing creators Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme.

Whitford lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actresss Jane Kaczmarek, and their three children, Frances, George and Mary. His birthday is October 10.
