WES MENDELL;

The executive producer of Studio 60, he's been with the show from its beginnings and is becoming increasingly frustrated with its falling quality - a result, he believes, of the network bowing down to the FCC and religious groups and playing to the lowest common denominator. This is all compounded by a decision in the pilot to cut a religious sketch from an episode and leads to a furious on-camera tirade by Wes which results in his firing.
