TOM JETER;

Age: 27 Position: One of the "Big Three" comedians on Studio 60. Place of Birth: Columbus, Ohio On Studio 60: Is one of the "Big Three" cast members, alongside Simon and Harriet. Family: Tom has a rocky relationship with his father and at times becomes frustrated by his parents' lack of understanding of his work. His younger brother, Staff Sergeant Mark Jeter, is currently serving in the American military in Afghanistan with the 820th RED HORSE (Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers).

Personal History: He used to date a woman called Paula until she left him for a cardiologist, feeling that she never got to see Tom outside of work. He describes himself as a "basset hound guy" and has a pet basset hound called Roscoe. The script describes him as "winning with a nimble comic mind... It isn't that he's on all the time, it's just that when he's not crafting a joke in his head, he's not sure what he's supposed to be doing." He and Simon are "united by their mutual respect, their dedication to their show and nothing else." Actor Nate Corddry describes his character as "one of those savant comedians. He's socially awkward, but when he gets in front of the camera or gets in a room of a bunch of writers he's truly himself. He'll take risks, put the pedal to the metal."
