AMANDA PEET;

An accomplished and versatile actress, Amanda Peet made an unconventional debut at the age of three when she climbed onto the stage during a play. Despite this early start, she later studied acting as more of a hobby than anything else. She studied history at Columbia University, where she auditioned for acting teacher Uta Hagen, with whom she later studied for a four-year period. Voted one of the fifty most beautiful people in the world in 2000 by People Magazine, Peet's film debut came in 1995 with the film Animal Room. Other film credits include the Oscar-nominated thriller Syriana, opposite Matt Damon and George Clooney; A Lot Like Love, Identity, High Crimes, Igby Goes Down, Something's Gotta Give, Changing Lanes and The Whole Nine Yards.

Studio 60 marks Peet's first return to television since she starred as Jack in the quirky TV drama Jack and Jill alongside Sarah Paulson.
