DANIEL TRIPP;

Age: This hasn't been stated on the show; however, it's known that Danny is three years older than Matt (who is 35), so it can be assumed he is 38. Marital Status: Twice divorced. Position: Executive Producer of Studio 60. On Studio 60: Was initially employed as a segment producer and was eventually promoted to co-executive producer. When Matt was fired from the show in 2002, Danny resigned as a show of support for his friend and went on to direct a successful movie penned by Matt. Matt and Danny were convinced to return to the show as executive producers in 2006 after Wes' firing.

Personal History: He has a history of drug problems and had been sober for eleven years until just prior to the pilot, when he tested positive for drug use in an insurance physical after taking cocaine over a weekend - as a result, he cannot get bonded until he has been clean for eighteen months. (Lucky a job's just opened up for him on Studio 60!) Attends AA meetings. In "The Christmas Show", he admitted to Jordan that he was falling in love with her.
